Verundah

Multidisciplinary artist and florist, Anoop Kaur, explores the energy, intelligence and abundance of the universe as it manifests itself through the floral form. In response to an overtly market-driven floral industry, the artist pays respect to the inherent divinity of the natural world by embracing and conducting its beauty and irregularity. One half of the floral design studio, Verundah, Kaur’s work arranges and compiles conductive materials to create anthropomorphic sculptures reflecting love, the cyclical nature of life, and its many phases of existence.

Anoop Kaur’s work features live materials like florals, but also dead wood, concrete, steel, fruit and more traditional mediums like paint, charcoal, precious stones/beads and textiles. Working in florals and perishables, Kaur is able to explore the time-based dynamism of the natural world.
