SEPT 20: Nature Writing & Communal Collage w/ Jess Payne & Source Work @ 2PM - 4PM

What is nature writing? What do we mean by nature writing (or perhaps better put writing nature)? If we are nature, then looking at the body, the self, in relation to non-human actors, sentient beings and the life force within the living world, is part of nature writing, not separate from it. 

In this workshop we will explore personal and plant ecologies, where they collide and where there’s friction. We will look at work that’s alive on the page and why that is at a text level. We will practise writing, gather images to match our writing and we will make a communal collage poem. 

Ultimately, for vibrant ecosystems to flow, and for reciprocity within the natural world, its pertinent we include the container of the self within our observations of the natural world. For the state of the world is also the state of ourselves.

Light refreshments and materials will be provided. If you'd rather write in a notebook, please bring one of your choosing to write in.
